After Hours Calls

Saint Clair Allergy & Asthma Center Telephone Servicing Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

For a life-threatening medical emergency, call 911 immediately. If an emergency room visit is required, please use a hospital facility where our physicians are on staff, and call the office for instructions to reach the physician on call.

For urgent matters that are not life threatening and/or medical emergencies, please contact one of our on call practitioner at 586-256-9051. The on-call practitioner will return your call. The on-call practitioner will not authorize routine refills, provide pain medication. or give test results, as they do not have access to your medical file. 

For non-emergent matters, such as appointments, prescription refills and samples, each Saint Clair Allergy and Asthma office is equipped with voicemail. Voicemail messages will be returned by a member of our staff within the next two business days. These non-emergent matters can also be addressed through our Patient Portal or via e-mail at scaac@outlook.com. The patient portal is monitored by our staff throughout working business days and by one of our three practitioners on off-working hours. Please allow 1-2 working business days for a response.

Medication samples are becoming harder to obtain. We will try to assist you with coupons and/or web sites for programs which may be helpful.

Appointments and Refills

Appointments and prescription refills can now be made through our Patient Portal. Patients utilizing the patient portal to make an appointment or refill a prescription need only make these requests through the portal, a follow-up phone call is not necessary. Every request will be responded to within 1-2 business days or sooner. If your request is not attended to within the 2 allowed business days, please follow up with our office via telephone to speak to one of our friendly and knowledgeable staff members.

If calling to make an appointment, you will be asked a series of questions about your condition. Please be specific when describing your symptoms. Please have your insurance information available when you call. You will be told if you need a referral from your primary care physician. If a referral is required, it is necessary that we have this information to us at the time of your visit. If we do not have this information at the time of your appointment and your health insurance plan denies reimbursement, please be aware that you will be financially responsible for any charges incurred.

If you are calling to refill a prescription, please call at least 48 hours in advance. When you call, please have the name and phone number of your pharmacy available, along with your prescription information. Your request will be reviewed by your physician, who can authorize the refill. Refill requests will be handled during routine business hours Monday through Thursday.
